Under US$1,000 is where most people should start looking for a gravel bike, and it is also where most retail bikes quietly cut the wrong corners. In the Meihanda range there are four gravel platforms below US$1,000, from US$619 to US$918, all sold factory-direct from our own production line in Foshan, China.

What you should get for under US$1,000
At this price a gravel bike should give you a frame worth upgrading around, a fork that takes the edge off rough surfaces, and a drivetrain with enough gear range to climb a loose hill. What it should not do is hide a weak frame behind a long list of brand-name components.
- An aluminium frame with a carbon fork — the fork is where comfort is cheapest to buy
- A drivetrain with a genuine low gear, not a road double that runs out on gravel
- Hydraulic disc brakes, or at minimum a brake spec you can verify
- Mounts for bottles and bags, so the bike can grow with your riding
Where the money goes at this price
The honest answer is that under US$1,000 most of the budget sits in the frame, fork and drivetrain, and that is where a factory-direct bike has an advantage: removing the distributor margin means more of the same budget reaches the actual parts. If you compare our sub-US$1,000 gravel bikes against a shop brand at the same price, look at the fork material and the brake type first — those two lines tell you the most about where the money went.
| What to check | What good looks like at this price |
|---|---|
| Fork | Carbon rather than aluminium — cheap comfort, real difference |
| Brakes | Hydraulic disc rather than cable-actuated disc |
| Gear range | A low enough bottom gear to climb loose surfaces |
| Sizing | A published size guide, not just S/M/L letters |
Frequently asked questions
Is a sub-US$1,000 gravel bike good enough?
Yes, for most riders. The differences at this price are in weight and shifting refinement rather than in whether the bike works. A well-chosen bike under US$1,000 will handle mixed surfaces, commuting and light bikepacking.
What should I upgrade first?
Tyres. They change how a gravel bike feels more than any other single part, and they are the cheapest change you can make.
Are these bikes shipped assembled?
They ship ready for final assembly. If anything in the build is unclear, contact us and we will walk you through it — we built the bike.
Can I order several bikes at once?
Yes. Wholesale, bulk and OEM/ODM orders are supported directly from our factory.
