What to spend on at this price
The three parts that decide whether a sub-US$1,000 mountain bike is worth owning are the frame, the fork and the brakes. Everything else can be upgraded later without wasting money.
| Part | What to look for |
|---|---|
| Frame | Alloy or carbon frames |
| Fork | Real travel with a working damper, not a cosmetic spring |
| Brakes | Hydraulic disc rather than cable-actuated |
| Drivetrain | Fewer gears with wider range beats more gears with a narrow range |
| Wheels | Tubeless-ready rims are worth having if the price allows |
Should you buy an electric mountain bike under US$1,000?
It is possible, and two of the models below are electric. The trade-off is the same one that applies at every price: the battery and motor take part of the budget, so the mechanical components around them are necessarily modest. If motor assistance is what gets you out on the trails, that is a fair trade. If it is not, the same money buys a lighter mechanical bike with better parts.
Either way, ask for the battery and motor specification rather than assuming — and if you are ordering for a market with its own e-bike rules, tell us and we will quote a compliant configuration.
Frequently asked questions
What is the cheapest mountain bike you build?
The entry-level hardtail starts at US$359, with 27.5-inch or 29-inch wheels and an 8-speed drivetrain.
Is a US$359 mountain bike usable off-road?
Yes — it is built for trail riding and everyday use. What it will not do is keep up with a much lighter bike on steep technical descents.
Should I choose the 27.5 or 29 inch version?
Twenty-nine for rollover and speed, 27.5 for agility. Some models offer both, so pick according to the trails you actually ride.
Can I order several bikes for a rental fleet?
Yes. Wholesale, bulk and OEM/ODM orders are supported from our own factory.
