The Meihanda road range

What separates one road bike from another

At the same price, the differences between road bikes come down to four things: frame material, drivetrain tier, brake type and how many sizes the model is offered in. Everything else — bar tape, saddle, tyres — is replaceable, and you should treat those parts as consumables rather than reasons to choose a bike.

Frame material

Aluminium road frames are the value choice: stiffer, cheaper to replace, and with modern tube profiles they are no longer the harsh ride they once were. Carbon road frames are lighter and damp road buzz better, which matters more the longer you ride. The Meihanda range offers both, and the aluminium platforms with a carbon fork are the most practical middle ground.

Drivetrain tier and gear count

The range covers 10, 18, 20, 22 and 24 speeds. A 22-speed road double is the traditional setup and gives closely spaced ratios for holding a cadence in a group. A 10- or 12-speed setup is simpler and lighter, with one shifter to think about. If you ride in a group and care about cadence, more speeds help; if you ride alone and want simplicity, fewer speeds will not hold you back.

Brakes

Hydraulic disc brakes give consistent stopping in the wet and need less hand force on long descents. Caliper rim brakes are lighter and simpler to maintain. Which is right depends on where you ride: if your roads are wet, hilly and steep, discs earn their weight.

Sizing

This is the part people get wrong most often. Several Meihanda road models are offered in S, M, L and XL, and others in millimetre frame sizes such as 440, 480 and 530. Send us your height, inside leg and current bike size and we will confirm the right frame before you order.

Buying a road bike factory-direct

Meihanda manufactures rather than resells. Because the same factory that builds the frames also sells them, there is no distributor margin between the production line and you, and the specification published on each product page is the specification of the bike you receive rather than a retail-packaged version of it.

The range is also available to shops and own-brand labels on wholesale, bulk and OEM/ODM terms, with custom paint, decals and component specification.

Frequently asked questions

Should I buy an aluminium or carbon road bike?

Buy aluminium if value, repairability and impact tolerance matter to you. Buy carbon if weight and vibration damping justify the extra cost. Aluminium with a carbon fork is the compromise that gets most riders most of the benefit.

How many gears do I need on a road bike?

Twenty-two is the traditional road double for group riding and closely spaced cadence. A 10- or 12-speed setup is simpler and lighter. If you ride alone and do not race, gear count matters less than having a low enough bottom gear for your local climbs.

Are the bikes shipped assembled?

They ship ready for final assembly. If anything about the build is unclear, contact us — we built the bike and can walk you through it.

Do you offer custom builds?

Yes. OEM/ODM orders support custom paint, decals and component specification, and we handle wholesale and bulk orders from the same factory.
