In this business, the repurchase does not depend on the bike you sold — it depends on whether the bike stayed on the road. A customer who cannot find a brake pad or an inner tube does not come back, and the shop that supplied it takes the blame. Spare parts are the least glamorous part of a wholesale order and one of the most profitable.
The spare-parts allowance included with container orders
Bulk container orders include a standard spare-parts allowance of fast-moving components for the models you are shipping. The allowance is agreed before production, so the parts that arrive are the ones your market actually consumes — not a generic box.
| Typical items in the allowance | Chosen by market |
|---|---|
| Inner tubes, tyres, brake pads, cables and housings, chains, bearings, derailleur hangers, grips, pedals | Humidity, road surface, average rider weight and the mix of models in the container |
The exact percentage and the parts list are confirmed per order in your quotation and order confirmation, because they depend on the models shipped and the degree of customisation.
Wear parts for the models you actually sell
We supply spare parts for the specific models in your range rather than a one-size kit, so your workshop is not adapting a part that was designed for something else. A practical way to run this is to reserve part of each container for wear parts of the models included — in the industry, a reservation of roughly 8–12% of container space is a common rule of thumb, and it is far cheaper than importing a separate spare-parts shipment later.
Adding spares to a container
Spares can travel inside any container, including a mixed container with several models. Adding them to a shipment you are already paying for removes a second freight and customs cycle, and it means the parts are in your warehouse before the first bike needs them.
Urgent parts between containers
If a part is holding up a sale or keeping a rider off the bike, tell us at the time: we quote and arrange courier shipment rather than making you wait for the next container.
Documentation for your workshop
Along with the goods we provide the documents a service department needs to work on the bikes you sell:
- Specification sheets for the models shipped, with component references.
- Material and finish details for frames and forks.
- The packing list and photographs of the batch as it left the factory.
These are the same records we use in claims and warranty cases, which is why they are issued with every order rather than on request — see warranty terms and shortages and damage claims.
How to request a parts list
Send us the models in your range, or the packing-list reference of the container you received, and tell us which parts you are replacing most often. We will come back with the part list, the unit prices and the quantities that fit your container.
Contact our export team with your models and we will put the list together.
How this page was written. Meihanda has operated its own bicycle factory in Foshan, Guangdong Province, China since 2014 (ISO 9001:2015). The terms described here are our standard wholesale terms; the exact figures — MOQ, warranty periods, lead times and spare-parts allowance — are confirmed per model and per order in your quotation and order confirmation. Where a destination market imposes additional requirements, we confirm them with you before production. Last reviewed: October 2026.
Parts we supply most often
| Category | Parts | Why they are in the allowance |
|---|---|---|
| Tyres and tubes | By model and wheel size | Highest consumption rate in any market; the first thing a dealer runs out of |
| Braking | Pads, cables and housings, rotors | Replaced on a schedule rather than on failure, so demand is predictable |
| Drivetrain | Chains, derailleur hangers, cassettes, chainrings | Hangers break in transit and on the first ride; they are cheap and impossible to improvise |
| Wheels | Spokes, nipples, bearings, axle sets | Low value, high inconvenience if missing |
| Contact points | Grips, saddles, pedals | Damage-prone in retail and rental use |
How the allowance is calculated
The allowance is agreed before production, not after, and it is built from the models in the container and the consumption rate you expect in your market. Humid coastal markets consume brake and cable parts faster; markets with poor road surfaces consume tyres and tubes faster. Tell us which parts go first and the list is weighted accordingly.
Ordering spare parts
- Send the model references in your range, or the packing-list reference of the container you received.
- Tell us the parts you replace most often, and roughly at what rate.
- We return a part list with unit prices and the quantities that fit inside your next container.
Electrical parts for e-bike fleets
On e-bikes the parts that stop a bike are electrical, not mechanical: batteries, controllers, chargers and displays. These are also the parts with the longest lead time, which is why a fleet order should carry them from the beginning rather than discover the gap in month four. Where a battery is replaced under warranty, we ship the replacement inside your next container and record the serial so the history of the unit stays traceable.
How spare parts travel, and what it costs
| Route | When it makes sense | Cost profile |
|---|---|---|
| Inside a container you are already shipping | Planned replenishment — the default route | Cheapest: no second freight, no second customs cycle |
| Courier, on its own | A part is holding a bike or a fleet off the road | Highest per-kilo cost, lowest downtime cost |
| Consolidated with the next buyer’s order | Small quantities that do not justify their own shipment | Mid-range; requires forward planning |
The practical rule is to plan spares one container ahead. Parts ordered into an existing shipment arrive before the first bike needs them, and they cost nothing extra to move.
Documentation that comes with the parts
Each consignment of spares travels with a part list referenced to the models it serves, so your workshop is fitting the right part to the right frame rather than matching by eye. Where a part supersedes an earlier reference, the substitution is stated on the list.
