Bicycle Warranty Policy

Every Meihanda order is covered by a written warranty, stated per model in your order confirmation. This page describes the standard terms so you know what to expect before you buy, and how a claim is handled if something does go wrong.

What the standard warranty covers

Component group Standard period Notes
Frame and fork 2 years Covers manufacturing defects in materials and workmanship, including welds and tube joints
E-bike electricals — motor, battery, controller, display, charger 12 months Battery coverage excludes capacity loss from normal cycling and misuse
Mechanical safety parts — handlebar, stem, seatpost clamp, crank 12 months Covers defects, not crash or impact damage
Wear parts — tyres, inner tubes, brake pads, grips, saddle, pedals, cables, chains Not covered Consumables; we supply them as spares instead — see spare parts

The periods above are our standard terms. Some models and markets carry different terms — for example where a destination market requires a longer statutory period, or where a heavier-duty commercial variant is specified. Your order confirmation is the document that applies.

What is not covered

  • Damage from a crash, impact, or riding outside the intended use of the model.
  • Damage from misuse, overloading, or assembly carried out incorrectly by a third party.
  • Unauthorised modification, repainting or replacement of components with non-approved parts.
  • Normal wear and tear on consumables, and cosmetic changes from use.
  • Damage or delay caused outside our control after the goods leave our plant — for example during sea freight, customs handling or inland transport to your warehouse (see shortages and damage claims).

How to make a claim

  1. Report it. Contact your account contact with the model and quantity affected, the purchase-order reference and the date of arrival.
  2. Send the evidence. Photographs of the defect, close-ups of the part, and the part reference or serial where the component carries one. Carton and packing-list references help us trace the batch.
  3. We investigate. Because every order is inspected before shipment, we hold the inspection records for that batch — including the 100% function test and the sampling results — and we check your claim against them. If a third-party inspection or laboratory assessment is needed, we agree who commissions it before it is ordered.
  4. We agree the remedy. Replacement part, replacement unit, or a credit against your next order. The remedy is confirmed in writing with a date.

How remedies are shipped

Warranty parts are normally shipped inside your next container, which is the cheapest route. For a part that is keeping a bike off the road, we send by courier instead — tell us at the time of the claim if it is urgent so we quote and arrange it.

Why claims are rare on our orders

  • Sampled structural testing to ISO 4210 on frames, and full function testing on 100% of units before packing.
  • Seven QC checkpoints across an order, from incoming material to final packing.
  • A pre-production sample for OEM and ODM projects, approved by you before volume production starts.
  • An inspection report before shipment — photos, carton count and packing list — so you know what is on the water before it arrives.

The mechanics of that process are on our factory and quality page.

Genuine spare parts

For the parts you will replace most often, we supply the models you actually sold rather than a generic kit, so your workshop is not improvising. Details and how to request a parts list are on the spare parts page.

How this page was written. Meihanda has operated its own bicycle factory in Foshan, Guangdong Province, China since 2014 (ISO 9001:2015). The terms described here are our standard wholesale terms; the exact figures — MOQ, warranty periods, lead times and spare-parts allowance — are confirmed per model and per order in your quotation and order confirmation. Where a destination market imposes additional requirements, we confirm them with you before production. Last reviewed: October 2026.

What a claim needs to move quickly

Item Why we ask for it
Model, quantity affected and the purchase-order reference Identifies the batch and lifts its inspection records
Photographs: the defect in place, and a close-up of the part A photograph decides in seconds what three emails cannot
The part reference or serial number, where the component carries one Establishes whether the failure is manufacturing or service history
The date of arrival and the date the defect appeared Separates a production fault from a transport or use issue

Covered and not covered: worked examples

Situation Outcome
A frame weld fails in normal use inside the warranty period Covered — replacement frame shipped with your next container
A battery loses capacity after two years of daily rental use Not covered — that is normal cycling life, not a manufacturing defect
A derailleur is bent when a rider crashes Not covered — impact damage, and normally settled with a spare part at cost
A brake calliper is found leaking at first assembly Covered — replacement part shipped, and we record the batch
A frame cracks after being fitted with a non-approved carrier Assessed case by case; unauthorised modification is outside the standard terms

Warranty terms by model: how to find yours

The periods on this page are our standard terms, and they are the terms most orders are built to. Some models and markets differ, and the difference is always stated in writing rather than assumed:

  • Destination markets with a longer statutory period. Where local consumer law requires a longer minimum, the order is built to that period and the confirmation says so.
  • Commercial and fleet variants. Heavier-duty models used in rental or fleet service carry terms set per project, because usage intensity is a different risk.
  • OEM and private-label projects. The warranty position is agreed in the project agreement, so a private-label brand can pass a consistent promise through to its own customers.

The document that applies to your order is the order confirmation. If you need a warranty period written into a tender document or a market’s regulatory file, tell us at the quotation stage and we will state it there rather than after the container sails.

Why the paperwork matters more than the promise

A warranty is only as good as the record behind it. Every order leaves with an inspection report containing photographs, carton count and the results of the sampled testing, and those records are held against the batch. When a claim arrives, the question is not who is at fault in general — it is whether the unit matches the batch that was inspected, and the inspection record answers that in minutes rather than weeks.

Limitation of liability

Warranty remedies are limited to repair, replacement of the affected part, or credit against your next order. Our liability does not exceed the value of the affected goods; loss of profit, downtime and other indirect or consequential costs are excluded.

This policy applies to wholesale and OEM/ODM orders. The definitive warranty period for each model is stated in your order confirmation, which is the document that governs the transaction.
