What a container of bikes really costs once duty lands on it. Anti-dumping is calculated separately from the tariff, because for Chinese bicycles it is usually the bigger number — on EU imports it is 3.5 times the tariff.
Why anti-dumping is a separate line
An anti-dumping duty is a trade-remedy measure against a specific origin, not a tariff rate that applies to the product. For bicycles it has been in force in the EU since 1993, was extended for a further five years in October 2025, and applies to imports from China and to shipments routed through Indonesia, Malaysia, Sri Lanka, Tunisia, Cambodia, Pakistan and the Philippines. In the US, the equivalent layer is Section 301 — a 25% tariff plus a 12.5% forced-labour tier added in July 2026.
That is why an EU import of a Chinese complete bike carries 62.5% and a US import carries 43–48.5% — roughly three to four times the headline tariff rate.
